Great Falls, Montana –

The Great Falls Business Improvement District (BID) is pleased to announce the completion of its most recent art project – its second installment of Parking Meter Art.  Eight decorated meter heads will be installed in conjunction with First Friday Art Walk on Friday, June 2nd at approximately 4:30pm in the newly created parking meter art garden located on 4th Street North, between Central Ave and 1st Ave North, at the North Parking Garage.  This is a continuation of the BID’s beautification efforts in Downtown Great Falls.  Utilizing a Boy Scout who was working on his Eagle project the garden was prepared for the meter art created by eight local artists.

The meters utilized in this project are not functional parking meters ~ they are works of art.  People who like and appreciate the art will be encouraged to “plug” the meters with their donations.  The funds collected will, in turn, be returned to the Downtown through the work of the BID.

The artists involved in this project were selected last fall and include seasoned artists alongside an 11-year old emerging artist.  The artists are being invited to be present between approximately 4:30pm and 5:30pm when the meter heads will be installed.

This project would not be possible without the support of the Boy Scouts, specifically Sam Collins, Standard Parking Plus, the City of Great Falls and Advanced Coatings.
